<p>Back in January, we launched our &#8220;social-friendly&#8221; rewards program that allows customers to earn extra points toward free Tasti when connections to Facebook, Foursquare and Twitter are enabled.</p>

<p>Messages are automatically posted earning extra TastiRewards points. We recently turned on a new feature that allows these members to write their own personalized MyTasti Message that will get sent out to friends and followers when their TreatCard is swiped.</p>

The response from customers has been extraordinary and we continue to look for new ways to engage as these online applications become more popular.</p>
<p>Lately we’ve been playing around with mobile coupons which allow customers to simply show a text message instead of presenting a paper coupon. Follow us on <a href="http://twitter.com/tastidlite" target="_blank">Twitter</a> or become a fan on <a href="http://facebook.com/tastidlite" target="_blank">Facebook</a> to see what else we’re up to.</p>
<p>As we continue to localize the social media efforts, we’ve come across <a href="http://playfoursquare.com" target="_blank">Foursquare</a> which is a location based mobile application where users “check-in” at local establishments, connect with friends and earn points among other things. The potential for presenting special offers to those checking in at nearby restaurants or other establishments will allow us to interact when users are out and about.</p>

Forget about calories, fat content, carbs, you name it. In the example above, things were &#8220;so good – so good for you&#8221;. We all know that things have not stayed that way. Today we can read, inform ourselves, and make a rational decision as to what we buy and eat. We have also come a long way in determining the potential effect on our system of what we eat. I cannot afford not to watch what I eat any longer. I enjoy a good serving of ‘Vanilla ice cream’ once in a while.  And I can inform myself about the ingredients, caloric, fat and carb contents, among other fascinating information. I have a choice. I have the power to control my intake of calories and fat. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As we recently approached the 1000th follower mark on <a href="http://twitter.com/tastidlite">Twitter</a>, we thought it would be fun to celebrate the event with a contest that would award the winner a Tasti party with up to 20 of their friends.<br />
The winner also got to choose the flavors of the day and enjoy a <a href="http://www.tastidlite.com/blog/?p=41">Fail Whale cake</a>. Many of those already following us were strategizing with their non-follower friends in order to secure the number 1000 spot.</p>

The private event was held on June 4th at the Empire State Building location and was attended many of the office staff of <a href="http://www.wbresearch.com">Worldwide Business Research</a>.</p>
<p>One of the activities was a &#8220;Best Swirl&#8221; contest.  They were first instructed on the proper technique to create the perfect swirl in a Tasti D-Lite cup.  Contestants then presented their creations to the judges (their office mates) who rated the efforts on a scale of 1-10 as compared to the example they were provided.<br />

<p>I think everyone found that it is not as easy as it looks but a fun time was had by all.</p>

In preparation, we thought it would be fun to create Twitter flavors and a Fail Whale cake. The “Fail Whale” is the character that is displayed on the Twitter website when Twitter is broken. (This happens periodically.)While the weather deterred some, the group that joined us enjoyed much product sampling, specials and giveaways.
