If you haven’t already secured financing, you’ll need to do it now. Tasti D-Lite can help, through our relationships with several lenders who specialize in business financing.
2. Select site and negotiate lease.
You may choose to hire a local commercial realtor/broker to help you in your search.
Review site availability with your Tasti D-Lite operations representative. We’ll review demographics on the surrounding area including population, education, income, business factors and more.
Identify area and site preferences. Conduct site visits.
Complete a site review package and submit to Tasti D-Lite operations for review.
If Tasti D-Lite determines that the location meets the center location criteria, you can begin to negotiate your lease.
3. Sign a franchise agreement.
After negotiating your lease, you’ll receive two execution copies of the Tasti D-Lite franchise agreement. Review and sign the documents. Federal law requires that you hold the fully-executed documents for seven calendar days before returning them to us along with the remaining fees. Upon receipt, you’ll be assigned a Tasti D-Lite center number.
4. Begin center design and construction.
Tasti D-Lite operations or your local Tasti D-Lite representative will provide center development coordination. This includes everything from center design to the build-out of your center and merchandising of Tasti D-Lite products and services.
The Tasti D-Lite Design & Construction department will design and create your center to meet all operational and image standards.
A set of construction documents will be provided to Tasti D-Lite operations or your local Tasti D-Lite representative to coordinate the build-out of your Tasti D-Lite center.
Tasti D-Lite operations or your local Tasti D-Lite representative will help coordinate the build-out of your center, including permitting and image compliance.
5. Attend training.
You’ll attend the learning phase at Tasti D-Lite Technological Institute (TTI) in Nashville TN. TTI provides new franchisees with a learning program in the management and operational skills needed to run your Tasti D-Lite center as an independently owned and operated business. This two week learning program is divided into two phases.
Phase I: Classroom Learning Sessions
Your education starts with classroom sessions where you will learn the theory of operating your business. Topics will include: The Frozen Dessert Market, Business Concepts, Developing a Business Plan, Center Daily Opening and Closing Processes, Soft Serve Machine Operations, Customer Service, and much more.
Phase II: In-Center Learning
You’ll also receive hands-on, in-center learning to integrate everything you’ve learned in the classroom. Your experience will include: Product Preparation & Maintenance, Purchasing/Receiving, Point of Sale and Back Office Accounting Operation, Sanitation, and much more.
6. Grand Opening.
Tasti D-Lite will partner with you to develop a marketing strategy fine-tuned to your local area. After you’re open and running smoothly, Tasti D-Lite will also provide marketing materials and a comprehensive advertising and public relations template for your Grand Opening.
